If they can keep the price in the high $20's / low $30's with this thing, the new TSX is going to be a major flop.

Gary,
I don't know the new TSX is supposed to have more power and other changes. I think they will compete fairly well, especially if they keep the price around the current range. If they increase the power like they are supposed to, and can keep the price around $28 for the base, I think the TSX will be the better seller.

And isn't the TSX a four door? This is a three... also, wasn't there a news post saying that the 135i was going to be just under $40,000? The TSX will certainly be in a different segment if thats true.

Allen,
I know the convertible is around 40K, as far as the 135, yeah probably in the mid to high 30's. It is priced like a BMW, the Acura will still cost less, and now perform better than the current Acura TSX's.

Initial rumors on the 1 Series was $27k-$35k, which is right about the range the TSX sits in... The TSX is also supposed to have a 2 door version coming out as well. I really can't see Acura going much higher than $35k with even the TSX Type S (AWD 2.3T) since that would be encroaching on TL territory price wise.
If BMW can get the TT V6 1 Series at the $35k price range I'll be jumping ship from Acura to BMW. I just hope BMW has upped their quality control a bit in the last few years. My sister's and my mother in laws BMW (2002ish 3 series) are constantly in the shop for minor issues like switches and LED's not working. That's my only concern if/when I do get a 1 series.

Great, as if the 3 series wasn't cheap enough...
Now I can see every trailer queen and fast food teenager with a sideways baseball cap leasing a 1 series and driving around "ballin" like they have a $100,000 "bimmer" and revving at everything that moves.

Maybe by the time the car is for sale you'll know what kind of engine is has. I'll give you a hint - BMW doesn't use a V configuration unless there's a least 8 cylinders.

Remy:
Blow.
Doesn't matter to me if it's an I or a V, Id still rather have it over a fuel economy lacking 2.3T from Acura.

I'd rather have a 2.3T TSX over a flaming 1 series.

car screams econo-BMW, if the 135 is costing mid 35s I see very little reason when you can put a few thousand more and get a 335 sedan. Why would I buy a 135 over lets say a STi or Evo X, at least those dont look like some econobox

"if the 135 is costing mid 35s I see very little reason when you can put a few thousand more and get a 335 sedan."
Except for the fact that the 135i has a few hundred pounds less excess weight to pull, meaning it's faster AND gets more mpg. Why you'd pay more money for fewer mpg's and slower acceleration times is beyond me.....

and anyone who pays 35k for a 135 a joke of an exterior styling, noticeably crappier interior than a 3, when a 335 sedan is 3k more which doesnt look like an econobox is beyond me. 128 will sell like hotcakes, 135 is priced way too close to a 335 sedan and wont sell many. BMW is cheapening their image with this car, like the C230 hatch thing MB released and killed a while back, same with the 318

You really know nothing about BMW then. You're one of those people who think that BMW is a "rich mans" car or a status symbol. It's not. They make luxury cars, performance cars, and econo cars. As for your "crappier interior" - you can get the same interior as on their other cars......you just have to check the "leather" option box.
