Mitsubishi Concept CX Photo Leaked

cx_front.bmp
Mitsubishi recently released a sketch of the upcoming Concept CX, now an official photo has surfaced. The car is set to be unveiled at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show. You can think of the CX Concept as a sort of Lancer hatchback, since it has a similar front end as the compact sedan.

The CX will be powered by a 1.8L diesel engine and a twin-clutch transmission. The concept is Euro 5 emissions compliant and features a variable-geometry turbocharger, a diesel oxidation catalyst, and a diesel particulate filter.

The interior of the car is made of environmentally-friendly Green Plastic. The CX Concept features electronic 4WD and a split rear tailgate.

UPDATE: After the image leak yesterday, Mitsubishi has gone ahead and released the rest of the photos of the car before it is unveiled next month.

Darmok:

Looks stupid compared to the drawings. They made it taller and narrower.

Sphere:

The front end looks like a toy farm tractor...ugly.

Agreed with Darmok, the drawings were much nicer. This one is too tall. Maybe they want to market as yet another crossover now.

A:

looks like the result of a three-way between an Evo, a Mini , and a Jeep. nasty.

wired_monk:

Its amazing that they could take a very cool design drawing and produce a vehicle that should only be driven to a gay bar.

rene:

looks like a spaniel stepped on its tail :)

Tom:

Holy cow, that is awful.

I hope someone at Mistubishi has the sense to read comments on auto sites like this, then to send it back for a redesign.
