Is This What Hyundai's New G37 Wannabe RWD Coupe is Going to Look Like?

hyundai_rwd_coupe01.jpg
We've seen several spy photos of Hyundai's new RWD Tiburon coupe in the past few months. Now we have an "official" photo rendering of the new coupe. The rendering looks very close to test mules that have been spotted, but it gives us a glimpse of what the front end may look like.

The upcoming rear-wheel-drive coupe that may or may not be named the Tiburon is based on the upcoming Genesis sedan. The coupe will launch about six months after the sedan surfaces, so expect an early 2009 launch.

The coupe will feature a V6 and possibly a V8 powerplant. Earlier spy photos showed the car being powered by a possible turbo 4-cylinder engine. According to Hyundai insiders the new Infiniti G37 coupe is the benchmark for the coupe.

Niz:

Its just a blatant copy of the G35.

Andrew:

Jaw Drop.......

All I can say is Hyundai is definitely a different company.

Chrysler should have hired that CEO to run its company!!

Blatant copy, what ever.... All manufacturers are copying each other now a days.

If they price it right, I'll buy one.

A.J. Subram:

Hmm... looks very much like the old Tiburon... i don't see the resemblance to the G35. The G35 seemed wider and have an edgier design.

The overall design is a bit bulbous, but those five-spoke wheels are hot. Lots of styling cues borrowed from lots of other manufacturers, though. Still, much more exciting than previous Hyundais.

It looks really nice. I think they will sell alot of them; especially if they are priced right.

Tracy:

If they offer it up in a V8 for about $23K, I think they will have a winner..

If I could get an almost-G37 coupe for half the price, I would swallow my Nissan fanboism and buy this Hyudai. Besides, you could put the money you saved into a 5-year term deposit to save up to buy a used Nissan GTR.

Steve:

Hopefully they build it, I work for Kia/Hyundai in sales and I havn't heard anything.
