Next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Honda is going to unveil the Accord Tourer Concept that hints at the replacement for the UK Honda Accord (pictured above). The UK Honda Accord is essentially the same sedan that we have in the US, which is rebadged as the Acura TSX (the US-spec Accord is not the same).
Honda claims that the new mid-size model will feature a wider and lower stance. It will also feature Honda's latest low-emissions technology. The new Accord is expected to go on sale in the UK in mid-2008.

This thing better get some serious power upgrades if it's going to compete against the other cars in it's price range. Lets just hope Acura doesn't pull a Honda and stick with under performing and over priced.

I failed to see much difference from the current one, which is perhaps a good thing, since the current TSX looks good. Although the the rear window/C column still looks like an old Accord to me, I think it was based on the smaller European Accord? I'm not sure about this though.
But I'd take the Lexus IS any day. For the RWD alone, but it actually has much more than that.

Somehow I look at the picture and just saw a TSX...yes, our TSX is based on an Accord in Europe...

That's not a picture of the concept, it's still a picture of the current generation TSX/Euro Accord. Google Honda Sport 4 if you want to see a pic that'll point in the direction of the next gen.

The Honda Sport 4 looks awesome. I hope that most of that makes it to production.

@ Gary (First Post)
Isn't 140kw from a 2.4L eneough power for you. This is the most power full 4cylinder mid size car i know of in Australia. And no the Accord you get in the US in not mid size. It is large!!! and has the crapy 118kw 2.4L.

The amount of power they get from the 2.4L is good, however in the class the car is in the US, it is severly underpowered. I can name at least 10 cars that cost $10K-$12K less that handle better, have faster acceleration, and just as many features/luxuries as the TSX/Euro Accord. I'm a Honda fan myself (have had 2 civics & 2 integras) but would not buy any of the current Acura/Honda cars on the market.

Gary:
I'd love to save $10k ($100+/mo on a lease), now that I need to replace my 2004 tsx. What can you recommend?

JimJ:
Mitsubishi lancer ralliart (the new one coming out), Honda civic SI 4dr, used TL, 2008 Altima V6, Subaru WRX, VW Jetta, etc.. Just about any other import 4dr car on the market.
Or just wait for the new TSD which should _at least_ have the RDX motor in it.

Used TL maybe. Not sure how I feel about leasing one. Or if it handles better. They aren't 10k less
altima v6 equipped like the TSX will be more expensive, never mind 10k cheaper.
I'll maybe give you the Si, but I need automatic.
wrx starts at 25k (28 w/ auto)
Jetta? I like to drive my cars, not have them sit in dealer for warranty service. and it is only 5k less. (plus forget about residuals)
I don't particularly care for the look of the lancer.
If you've had 2 civics and 2 integras, I believe you are qualified to judge underpowered.
I guess I have modest needs for power, because the TSX never dissappoints me.
