Chrysler has announced that the automaker will start producing light-duty diesel pickups after 2009. Chrysler is expecting that the diesels will average about 30 percent better fuel economy than the regular gas powered versions.
Chrysler is going to work with Cummins Inc. to develop an all-new turbo diesel engine. The diesel engine will meet emissions standards in all 50 states and will produce up to 20 percent less carbon emissions than a regular gas-powered engine.
