Nice. The worst of Chris Bangle seems to have gone away. Finally.

Can't be the next 3-series. Just look at the hood, that's at least a V8 in there to have it like that.

Thats the point, its supposed to look SPORTIER. It could have any engine under the hood.

Is that the final rear end? I can't believe how ugly it is now, with that super tiny tail light.

The part of the tail lights that's on the trunk is still taped over. It would look too much like a TL as is!

OK I don't get it.
BMW's are the one of the most boring/non-innovative car shapes in the world. This one looks just like every other BMW.
So whats so new and special about this one, other than a hood that looks like my ex-wife sat on it?

Like a TL??
Looks like a Nissan Sentra as it is. But it has cammo, so I hope this is not final. Maybe there is cammo in the potty/Pontiac like hood. Ugh!

"BMW's are the one of the most boring/non-innovative car shapes in the world."
Right, which is why everyone screams when they do something creative ( started with the Z4 and then took the design to all their vehicles under Bangle ), then EVERYONE (pretty much) copies them......and then calls them "unoriginal". WTF? First you say you hate it, then you copy it, then you say it's dull when it was so great that you copied it? Please.

German cars suck in general. People over here in the states clammer over them because what they represent as a name.
I own a german car and it really is a crappy piece of work. It spends more time in the shop than my superior asian based car. It uses inferior materials for the interior and a Chevy.
The only thing I like about it is its raw power and handling. Other than that, I could have gotten the same out of a Honda product.

That was a pointless post. Go drive your Kia.
If this is really BMW's new 3 series, someone needs to be shot. Bangle has already made the brand a laughing stock. The vast majority of recent BWM's are just plain fugly. This is a step backward from the current 3. It doesn't matter what's under the hood - nothing is faster than eyesight.

the combination of power and handling are what draw people to european cars. They are required to have elevated abilities for use on higher speed freeways, even though most of them have speed limits nowadays. The vehicle maintenance required by the government are far more strict than they are here in the states.
While most buy for cachet, there are still those who buy european for the fact that as you draw closer to the limits, they are in general, more capable cars than most. The asians are new to true sport luxury, they tried to own pure luxury first and while most will say the LS400 is every bit as good as a 7 or a S class, the 3 is generally stilll regarded as a better sports sedan than the IS and the G. Well, when they're equally new anyways. The G did beat the older E46 3 series a few years ago when the 3 was already 5 years into its lifecycle.

Ahh, yah, German cars are just about the name Andrew? And you say they have worse interior quality? I mean I agree that they have above average shop time, but if you'd like to claim a C, E or S Class has a worse interior than a Cadillac Escalade, I'd really like to show you one.....

Remy:
So why do you still have that unnamed German car in your garage? Your VW is worse than you're Hyundai?
Another confused person who has no right to talk smack about any cars. You buy German cars for the technology (bleeding edge) and the name. You buy Japanese cars for reliability (not bleeding edge) and blandness. More people are going to be impressed with a Mercedes over a Toyota/Lexus.
Can I get some rice with that?

Like the article says, this is just a minor facelift, not the next generation 3-series.
Hopefully when the taillights are revealed it will have lost the angry pokemon look.

seems that Bangle's promotion to the board has effectively neutralised him.
It would be great if GM could offer him a job.
Van Hooydonk needs to have his eyes checked. This look as something fell on the hood.
But, at least the next 7-series looks like a proper BMW again.
