It seems like there are new spy photos every week of the new 2008 Honda Accord. So much so that when the photos are officially released, it is going to be old news. Well following the photos of the coupe earlier this week, we now have the best photos of the interior to date. Thanks to The Mags Report.
The overall interior of the all-new Accord isn't going to stray much from the current generation. Although the styling of the current Accord has been somewhat controversial, the interior remained one of its best attributes. This trend will continue for the new generation as well. The photos of the exterior of the Accord show a very conservative, dare we say bland sedan. The coupe looks a little better. Well the interior builds on the successes of the current generation. Some of you may complain about the numerous buttons on the center console, but at least its more interesting to look at than the Camry or Altima's interior.
From the photo above it looks like the new Accord will not have a push button start ignition like the Altima nor a manual mode for the automatic transmission. The navigation is also not touch screen.

Looks nice. Most likely the stereo headunit is completely impossible to upgrade. But it should still appease the masses.

Darmok,
I bet if you opt not to get the nav system it'll be easier to get an aftermarket stereo. I have a '04 accord coupe ex v6, no nav system. i still have the factory stereo, but it's completely bypassed (the climate controls are integrated with the radio, so i couldn't completely get rid of the unit itself), i have an aftermarket stereo where the cubby hole storage was meant to be. you can also get an audio processor to connect your factory radio to aftermarket amps:

p.s. JL Audio sells something similar too

With all of the buttons and LCD screens, It looks like an accident waiting to happen, not to mention an electricians worst nightmare. What happened to regular analog guages and dials? No wonder some people will not drive anything made past 1970, They were far easier to repair and operate than the garbage that passes for cars now.

The middle console looks like they lifted the spaceship interior from the Subaru Tribeca.

I like it. I am glad Honda did not conform and make the IP ugly like most of the other car companies (ie they give the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge each their own "cylinder" enclosed face). The only bad thing I think I see is that Honda kept the really annoying way of adjusting the brightness of the IP in current Accords, with that stupid knob. They could've made it like the current civics with the brightness adjuster on the side.
