The next generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class will not grow much in size compared to the current generation, although it is rumored that it will adopt styling cues from the Mercedes CLS.
In general the new 2009 E-Class will adopt many of the same styling themes from the S-Class and C-Class sedans. The most noticeable change will be the new square headlamps. The new generation will ditch the current round headlamps.
Expect the new car to be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show next March.

Yet another car trying to look like the 2005+ Avalon. WTH?

Avalon? I see very little Avalon in this.... maybe considering that its just a sedan... but thats it. The Avalons headlights are entirely different, still square but then again its not like we can reinvent geometry all for the sake of different headlamps.
Other than that, bring it on. More beautiful Benz for us!

I think you are right, it will adopt some of the c-class and s-class stylings.

I wish if this styling came before the current Lexus GS so it would be a nice individual setup...but since it came just now it't not acceptable to me...lexus was copieng merc. for long time...it should'nt be the opposite! come on merc designers, look carefully to the market please.

The current 2008 E class looks much better than 2009 - I'm disappointed at the first time to see the picture.

this car is cool but not better than the 2008 e class, this car looks like the lexus gs and c class grill put together, benz need to keep the e class reputation up. i have an 2008 eclass and im very happy with it and i wouldnt trade it in for the new 2009 eclass.

This car looks more agressive than the last two generations. It appears to be the way most new cars are going (look to the BMW's,lexus, Fords and dodge)
The lights do look a lot like the GS300, but i like it .
