Brenda Priddy & Co. have managed to snap several shots of the upcoming Mazda flagship sedan. We've seen several photos of the car, but this is the first time that we can see the full shape. The new 2008 Mazda 6 is bigger than the outgoing version and will also have more power from a new V6.
As you can tell from the photos the new front end will feature much larger headlights as well as a bigger grille. There are also some photos of the interior of the car. The overall styling of the new sedan is much better than the current version and should compete well with the new 2008 Accord as well as the Camry and Altima sedans.
The top motor will be a version of Ford's new 3.5L V6 and a 4-cylinder will also return with about 180 horsepower. A hybrid is also rumored. Unfortunately the MazdaSpeed6 and Mazda 6 Sport Wagon will not return for the 2008 model year. The MazdaSpeed6 will be missed the most.
Update: The new Mazda 6 will be a 2009 model, contrary to the title of this article.

I like what I see so far with regards to appearance, and being a bit bigger is a plus too in my book. Too bad I've rarely met a Ford V6 I've liked.

IMO that grille is HIGHLY reminiscent of the Acura RSX. Also, it seems to have lost some of its sporty looks (I've always perferred the 6's styling over the Camry/Accord/Altima)

I don't think people will like the tape and stuff all over the car. It looks like it is just holding it all together. They should go back to making the car with out all that stuff all over it. It will never catch on.

The V6 used by Ford was originally designed by Mazda. I've heard rumours that the 3.5 V6 will receive twin turbos for the Mazdspeed version, presumably AWD again. Not convinced by the styling direction they're taking though. It looks likely to be gimmicky and just as ugly as the new Accord.
