There have been numerous spy shots of the upcoming BMW 1-Series, but these newest ones are of the coupe with very little camouflage. World Car Fans This is the version of BMW's smallest car that we will actually get here in the U.S.
Many enthusiasts are excited about the release of this coupe and convertible due to its small size and light weight. BMW has stated that they will not offer the 1-Series in the US with a 4-cylinder, but they haven't given full details on the engine lineup. It is expected to get the 3.0L 6-cylinder from the 130i and the twin-turbo 3.0L inline six from the 335i.
The car is expected to start at about $25 - $28k when it shows up here.

I still say it looks weird. Which is too bad because I like the specs and the estimated price.
It's too stubby. The crease running down the side looks weird. The doors are a strange sagging shape.
It does have a lot of the BMW 2002 in the look if that's what you like though.

My only complaint is that the roof doesn't come down quick enough in the back. I'm planning on buying one after they come out.

It looks like they took the front off of a 3 series and mated it to the back end of a 1997 Ford Escort ZX2

Yo Darmok,
That's not a crease running down the side, that's masking tape put there to give the impression of a crease. Look a little closer, especially at the rear 3/4 view. I thought that the "crease" looked weird too until I looked closer. It's even more noticeable that it's just tape on the red one: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480
