Temple of VTEC and Brenda Priddy have caught more photos of the new 2008 Honda Accord Coupe interior. The interior looks pretty much the same as the pics that were posted earlier this week, although they are from the other side of the car. There is also a pic of the inside of the driver's side door.
In these pics we can see a closer look of the details of the interior, specifically the 5-speed shifter and the steering wheel.
Click on the link below to see the photos and what their members are saying about the interior.

Japanese-designed cars (we should all remember that many "Japanese" cars are now manufactured within the country where they are sold) have very nice interiors, except for one thing...
I wish the Japanese designers would get the seats "off the floor" (that is, they feel far too low for both my liking and my thigh support).

Even though there is no doubt that the quality of the cars that Honda manufactures is excellent, as a Honda customer I can say with confidence that the after sales service and support offered by Honda is terrible.
During the one year that I have owned a Honda City ZX (CVT), there are numerous times when I have wished that I had bought another car -- perhaps a Hyundai, because of the hopelessly inexistent customer care that Honda extends to its customers.

I understand you, but we all have personal tastes. Perhaps sampling others aimed towards different markets may fit your needs. (Avalon and such since your talking cars and not trucks)
As for most cars being "on the floor", it used to be worse but more of what I liked. Last year I moved from a Acura Legend sedan to a Mazdaspeed6. The Legend felt considerably lower, probably 4" or so while sitting.
Prior to that I drove a Honda Prelude that felt even lower then the Legend. I could say it bordered on being a fustration getting in and out. By no means did I hate the car because of it. Instead, the car just created the "gah....*mumble*" feeling every time I got in and out.
Anyway, it seems every few new generations many cars seat dynamics change. I'm still confused and somewhat unsettled in the sportier speed6 with higher seat feeling when compaired old $32,000 highway cruiser Legend.

Thanks. I guess it depends how much driving you do before you find the Japanese-designed low seats inconvenient or worse uncomfortable - I am currently driving about 42,000 miles a year.
I am currently driving a "European" car (a VW, built in Mexico :p) and the seats are wonderful - much higher, and height adjustable to boot. Not to mention a finer (and therefore, better) level of seat angle adjustment - nothing worse than trying to set a seat back angle "in between" 2 different notches on a Japanese-style seat. Sometimes I make an adjustment so small that I would never be able to do it in the Japanese cars...but it makes all the comfort difference.

I fixed this problem by removing the factory seats and bolted in my favourite lounge chair. I now sit higher and are able to tilt the seat back and have feet support pop up while I use cruise control.
It is the best way to go.
