Chrysler is about to announce that the Dodge Hornet Euro B-Car is going to be produced. The car will be produced by Chinese automaker Chery and there will not be a Chrysler version of the car.
The concept version of the Hornet was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Auto Show and Chrysler could unveil a pre-production version of the car at the Frankfurt Auto Show this fall.
The concept Hornet had a supercharged 170 horsepower 4-cylinder engine that was capable of going 0-60 in 6.7 seconds.
It hasn't been confirmed if we will get it here in the U.S. Chrysler could use this car in the U.S.

It looks really nice. The timing is good with prices of gas going up.

So both the design AND the name are a Chrysler original. Nice!

"Walmart package" Hah hah, good one.
I don't know about the styling. It is a bit odd and I see quite a bit of Mini in it. And those rims? Huge. I doubt the production car will have it.

WoW! I agree with "Gimp", I see alot of Mini in the design but at the same time it has the tough look of most Dodge vehicles. I really, really hope they bring this one to the US. It would be a real shame if it doesn't make it to American shores. With more information I would highly consider purchasing one of these.

Who needs 170 horses in a "mini" car? And why is going 0 to 60 in 6 .7 seconds so important when the whole idea of a mini is economy? I would rather have a car that is powered by a smaller high efficiency engine, goes 0 to 60 in good time, and runs 300,000 miles, with no problems. Build a car that is better than the Fit, Jazz, or the Yaris and they will come! Make a car that will survive more than one bad accident and you will be mobbed. Don't give it that awkward, "geechy" face, or that silly, fake muscle-bound look. Get real, Chrysler. Or, you might lose the third time. Three strikes, and....You know it.
