The Mini-Cayenne Porsche Roxster SUV will Be Based on the Upcoming Audi Q5

Porsche is working on a new small SUV that will be based on the upcoming Audi Q5 SUV. The new SUV is reportedly going to be named the Porsche Roxster and will slot below the Porsche Cayenne SUV.

The Audi Q5 is expected to be released as a 2008 model and the new Roxster will probably arrive a year or two later.

The Roxster will compete against a whole line of new small luxury SUVs such as the BMW X3, new Mercedes-Benz GLK and the Land Rover LR2.

Noya:

I think it's great that Porsche is vying for market share, but I personally feel it cheapens the marque, as does the Cayenne.

I checked out the base-model Cayenne at a European car dealer and I was not impressed. Porsche has never had the greatest interiors. Combine that lack of quality with the vastness of the Cayennes interior and it was truly disappointing. I can only imagine how this "Mini-Cayennes" interior will fair.

Remy LeBeau:

Oh that's sick. As if selling an SUV wasn't enough of a disgrace to the Porsche name, they're going to blatantly insult the beloved Boxster in the process? Who's running Porsche these days?!

The king is dead, long live the... um... whatever.
