It seems as if General Motors is continuing their "alternative" marketing approach that they started with the upcoming "Transformers" movie, which features GM vehicles. The latest effort is in the upcoming music video for rapper 50 Cent.
His latest video for "Amusement Park" a single off of his upcoming album, "Curtis" features the new Pontiac G8 and Pontiac G6 GXP vehicles.
This is a change from the normal Hip Hop music videos which usually feature exotic and luxury vehicles.
Apparently the check that GM wrote for the cars was enough for 50 Cent to forget about the Ferrari's, Mercedes and BMWs for a few minutes. Well luckily the video still featured the scantily clad women that we are used to.

So, in light of GM's loyale buyers dying of old age, they're now trying to grab the younger idiotic MTV / MySpace / YouTube crowd...
Thumbs up GM (sarcasm), let make the target audience:
a) people to young to drive
b) people working at McDonalds who can't afford a new car (aside from an Aveo)
c) and minorities with statistically low credit ratings
I guess they thought it would be too hard to try and steal Honda and Toyota's middle class buyers.

You have to admit that the current trend in rap music is about bitches and whores or/and shootin up people.
Probably not a good choice to market towards that part of the population. But it always comes down to making the dollar. I mean the housing loans were offered to all these dead beats and look where that market is now.
