Auburn Hills, Mich., May 3, 2007 -

The Jeep® brand continues its expansion into new territory and into the world of rallye car toughness with a new body kit from Mopar®. For a limited time, a new Rallye Package featuring Authentic Jeep Accessories from Mopar will be available for both 4x2 and 4x4 2007 Jeep Compass and Jeep Compass Limited models. Mopar is the Chrysler Group's original equipment parts manufacturer.

Arriving in U.S. and international markets in late 2006, the Jeep Compass is an all-new compact sport-utility vehicle that combines classic Jeep cues with contemporary lines. The Mopar Rallye Package takes this sleek style another step, wrapping Jeep Compass' modern design in an aggressive toughness.

"The Rallye Package from Mopar enhances the sleek, sophisticated and expressive styling and appearance of the Jeep Compass," said John Plecha, Director – Jeep Marketing and Global Communications. "It embellishes its modern Jeep appeal and gives the Compass a character all its own."

The Jeep Compass Rallye Package – available in Black, Silver, Inferno Red, Jeep Green and Steel Blue – includes:

* Unique 18-inch x 7-inch black-painted aluminum wheels with machined edges and chrome center caps
* Roof-mounted rear spoiler that adds performance-oriented styling
* Auxiliary driving lights with covers that feature the Jeep logo
* Bright exhaust tips that reinforce the Compass' forceful personality
* Chrome Rallye badge
* Mopar body kit featuring front and rear fascia overlay appliqués, lower honeycomb front fascia grille and side sill lower panels and door appliqués

The U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Jeep Compass Rallye Package is $1,985 (Sport) and $1,850 (Limited). Limited production began in April for the United States and international markets. Pre-orders are being taken now.

The Jeep Compass Rallye edition debuted as a concept vehicle at the 2006 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Jeep Compass competes in the compact sport-utility segment, which is expected to grow considerably in the next decade, giving the Jeep brand the opportunity to grow with it. Annual compact SUV volume in the United States for the 2006 calendar year was 520,045 units, up 34 percent from 387,828 units in 2005. The compact SUV segment is expected to continue to grow to 814,000 units by 2016. This is a great opportunity for the Jeep brand to attract new buyers who want a stylish, fuel-efficient, affordable, safe and capable SUV.

Authentic Jeep Accessories from Mopar are available for purchase and installation at Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships across the United States. Mopar accessories are covered under DaimlerChrysler's 3-year/36,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty or Mopar's 12-month/12,000-mile Limited Warranty, whichever is more favorable to the customer. These warranties are serviced by Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships. More information is available at www.mopar.com.

Tommy Boy:

I recently purchased an '08 Compass 4x4 sport. I realize it's a departure for jeep, but why all the hate? My wife and I needed something that was good in the snow, it is, is decent on gas, we're getting 18 to 25 miles a gallon not bad for an suv, and is roomier than the tiburon we traded in. And the price is not all that bad for a 4x4. I would have opted for the patriot, but it was my wifes turn to pick out a car. I picked out a mazda6 a couple years ago which I still love. I think it's funny when people say it's not a true Jeep and sucks off road because I, like 95 percent of suv owners don't ever plan to take it off road. The ralleye package seems a bit silly to me, but hey, maybe they're trying to get a different crowd to look towards the Jeep brand. And there are many uglier vehicles on the road, ever seen an Aztec?

compass rallye owner:

I don't understand what you people look for in a car, the jeep compass is just a sporty attempt to include jeep in the sport compact world. It's a great little jeep that does all you need it to do. Gas milage 24/28 city/highway, it doesnt look all that bad if its black.

Get over it.

Jason:

I don't know why everyone is hating on this vehicle either. I just bought an 07 limited in Marine blue with black and grey leather. This thing rocks! I have enough space to carry anything i need, i get great gas mileage, it looks great with the 18" rims and firestone GTAs and not to mention it was completely afforable. I upgraded my warranty to the lifetime coverage on everything and i feel like i got a great deal. If more people would give this vehicle a chance they would sell way more of these then those stupid dodge calibers that have no headroom and no leg room. People that are complaining about this vehicle not being a real jeep, well keep in mind that with the price of gas if Jeep doesnt do something to get a different crowd into the dealership to look at vehicles and purchase then thier beloved wranglers and grand cheerokee's will go the way of Oldsmobile. (and FYI i might be an exception to the rule but I purchased this in ADDITION to my 07 wrangler)

rpm:

you guys are crazy - tons of uglier SUVs out there I have a black ralleye compass - drives great and get tons of compliments on the looks - lines and ground effects work - not ugly - give me your idea of a good looking SUV - boring/mundane gaurenteed - i'll keep my compass thank you!!!

j.morin:

As a first time jeep owner my wife and i are very happy with our 08 compass, we decided to go with the north edition and the first time we drove it was in a blinding snow storm, pushed the traction control and off we went with no worries, cars were pulling off the road or slowing to a crawl,we kept going. We are from canada and the north edition is the best thing jeep could have done for the brand, we also get compliments on its looks and all i can think about is the money staying in my pocket as the fuel economy is great, adding the tornado air intake will be the next thing for us to see how much bang for our dollar we can get at the pumps, we have owned powerful monster trucks in the past but every time i saw a gas station i always wondered if i should pull in. great vehicle, great price, great looks, plus it drives like a top.
give this little jeep a chance and it will show you what it can do.
by the way if anyone tells you the compass is bad off road i beg to differ!!!!
