Spy photographers have managed to capture two more pictures of the upcoming M3 Sedan during testing. This is the first M3 sedan, since the E36 sedan a decade ago. Stylistically the new BMW M3 Sedan will be differentiated from the regular sedan. The sedan will feature the same front end as the recently unveiled M3 coupe.

The new M3 sedan will take on the Lexus IS-F and Mercedes CLK63 AMG when it arrives in 2009.

The car will feature the same 4.0L V8 as the coupe with 420 horsepower and 295 lb.ft of torque.

Dave:

"420 horsepower and 295 lb.ft of torque" what the hell is with the Torque only time will tell what the real numbers will be on production cars but i sure hope they fix those numbers, not that once sold to me that car will stay stock for long but that seams a bit low.

Remy LeBeau:

The 3.2 six in the E46 M3 made 333 hp and 263 lb/ft of torque and was pretty fast. BMW has good torque curves and gearing to compensate for lower torque.

On the other hand, a sedan M3 is just blasphemous to me......

c32amg:

torque is another way of expressing hp as relates to rpm.

low torque is OK - if at hi rpm. use gearing to compensate.

mihalakis:

Power is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you...

socale46:

wouldnt the m3 sedan compete with the c63 amg and not the clk63 as the clk is not a sedan...
