Honda has unveiled the new 2008 Honda Club Racer (CR) S2000. The new version of the car will be sold alongside the normal version that has been out since 2000. The new version has modications to the suspension and body to improve its overall track performance.
A quicker steering rack, stiffer springs and dampers, and larger sway bars are part of the modifications. Engineers also eliminated the soft top and in its place they placed more bracing to increase the rigidity of the car. A removable hardtop replaces the soft top. The front bumper and rear end has also been revised, with the addtion of a "large" spoiler.
No engine modifications were made. The new version will be in dealers by the end of the year and pricing has not been released.
Very disappointing. I was hoping for something more like a S2000 Type R if they ever were to make one. This looks like it was modified in the garage of a teenager.

Wow this car is ugly and who picked this color, tha tblue makes me sick. This car looks way to soft, it needs a more aggressive look. Come on Honda, were are the sharp lines?

Are you people crazy?? This thing looks waaaay much better than the regular S2000. I'm a little disappointed that no engine work was done though. They could have at least added some tourque to this thing and moved the red line up. BUT it looks amazing.

Looks like a 16 year old got a chance to "tune" a standard S2000. Does Honda run out of ideas, or maybe just inspiration since 2009 we're supposedly facing extinction of the S2000 and the S800 (?) is a much more boring mainstream car (now let's talk about ugly). What are they thinking?

remember what keichi tsuchiya, the great drift king, would say when he uses an underpowered car but with a well-sorted suspension to beat higher-powered cars on the touge...
"power isn't everything, it's all about the balance"
and with the s2000 being a good touge runner, the new mods would definitely be great.

If your going to pay 40k+ for a track car, why not buy a Lotus Elise ?

Because Lotus Elise looks like out of space vehicle, maybe Hot Wheels Car. All honda needs in S2000 is inline 6 and it's over, imagine all the HP and TQ it would make, I think I would make love to it

I am really surprised they didnt do anything to boost up the power and torque of this thing, but overall it looks pretty good and I am sure will be a solid car on the track.
