New V8, RWD Sedan from Hyundai

Hyundai is going to show reveal the Concept Genesis at the New York Auto Show in April. The sedan is bigger than anything in their current lineup and is rumored to offer V8 power and RWD.

The automaker recently announced that they plan on moving to an alphanumeric naming scheme for its vehicles. If that is the case this car could eventually be called the i50, since that is what they stated would be the name of a future executive sized sedan.

Hyundai is definitely trying to occupy every segment. This car looks like a cross between the new Camry and ES350. Genesis_concept_rear

A cross between a Camry and ES300??

Why not just say it looks like a Camry/ES300? They are both based the same thing after all.

Chad:

Hyundai is actually introducing a powerful car?

cricket:

Yes, a powerful car. More powerful than the Tiburon which has been pretty damn powerful since 2003 :-p

Mike:

The Tiburon, with it's largest engine makes 172 HP and 181 Tq. That is not powerful.

Ralph Wiggum:

roberto dominguez:

I has hyundai elantra 5 door good car bat i need more power i want new hyundai bat i wetting for something with more power 200 or 250 hp please geed me something powerful

anon:

@mike,

180hp may not be powerful compared to a nissan GTR, but in a light car, it's more than enough. my vw gti turbo puts down 180hp and it's fast enough for me around town and on the highways.
