Ford is close to announcing the sale of Aston Martin. According to reports the racing firm Prodrive is the likely new owner. The deal is going to close for $870 million, which is half of what Ford hoped to get for the British car maker.
Prodrive already has a relationship with Aston Martin. They recently revealed a tuning package for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The 4.3L V8 features 425hp and 325 lb/ft of torque with the new package.
Hopefully the sale will free up some cash for the troubled auto maker, since they originally put Aston Martin up for sale in order to raise capital.
