2009 Volvo S40 and S60... 1+1=1

There have been numerous rumors about the fate of the next Volvo S40 and S60. One rumor suggested that the next S40 would be positioned as a 3-Series Fighter. Now comes another rumor that the S40 and S60 lines will be fused into one mid-size model. These new renderings from Auto Motor & Sport Sweden show the new mid-size sedan that takes cues from the XC60 SUV Concept and the new S80.

Only time will tell what the automaker has planned, but at least the company is trying hard to move away from the boxy sedans of the 1980's.2009_s40s60_rear

I hope the North American version of this car is exactly the same as the concept picture, I hope they build it to look like that.

that car is absolutely disgusting. i had an 05 T5. i loved it. unfortunately i wrecked it. the trunk part was slightly boxy but the front & sides were gorgeous. this thing is a monstrosity. this saddens me.
