If you have $109,000 you can buy the new 2008 Audi R8. That price will get you the six-speed manual version. If you want the six-speed R tronic transmission, it is going to cost you an extra $9k.
The mid-engine all-wheel drive sports car is sure to sell out at that price. The car has a 420 horsepower 4.2L V8 and is capable of hitting 60mph in 4.4 seconds. The car will be out this fall and will mainly compete with the Porsche 911 Turbo.
I saw this car at the L.A. Auto Show and driving in LA this past weekend... it was awesome...if only I had $109,000 in my checking acct.

I love the R8, but am a little dissapointed that they only threw in a 420hp engine. Had they they either upped the horsepower on the V8 or thrown in the V10, they could have easily created a 911 turbo killer and a car worthy of being compared to Ferraris and Lambos.
I too wish I had $110k to spend on one of these.

$109,000 for an Audi R8 with 420hp huh, no thanks. I'll go with 09 Dodge Challenger SRT8, it has more horsepower, more miles to the gallen, and it's only $38,000. However it's an American car so all you Euro-snobs out there may not even give a damn.

The SRT8 makes five more horse power, less miles to the gallon actually and somehow mannages to be slower than the Audi R8.
R8
- 4.2L
- 420 HP
- 0-60mph = 4.4s
-mpg c/r 13/20
SRT8
- 6.1L
- 425HP
- 0-60mph = 4.9s
- mpg c/r 13/18
Not to mention the R8 is a full time 4wd, would run laps around the STR8 on any course that had a turn, oozes class, sex and well, really isn't comparable. If raw power gets you wet, there are more powerful R8's in production including a V12 diesel with enough torque to pull up the tarmac.
