2008 Mini will have an AWD Option

According to a report out of Germany, the new Mini will be available with all-wheel-drive.

The system was originally developed for the new Clubman version, but apparently they are going to offer it across the range.

It should be interesting to see if the extra weight out weighs the benefits of awd. Are they trying to compete with the new R32 from VW?

Anthony:

This is an amazing handling car anyway, out handles (and out thrills!!) a lot of more expensive sports cars!!

AWD could make this a really great car

AWD would make an already cool car even cooler.

LTP:

Let us hope this is a step in the direction of building a high performance rally vehicle. After all the mini did win the Monte Carlo.

It would be really cool if the AWD option was available with the CRT. :)

I think it is cool with the CVT. It will be cooler with the AWD. I think it would be even cooler if it had a rotary engine. :) (IMO). I hope it is the next option. I would buy one with CVT, AWD and Rotary engine (I wonder if there are intials for a rotary engine?).

It would be even cooler if it had a rotary engine with the AWD and CVT. :)

Trickle X:

Coming from someone with a 400whp MINI....dang now they come out with AWD?!?!?!? Guess I will have to pick up one!
