2008 Acura NSX Delayed once Again!

acura_sports_concept_fr.jpg
The Advanced Sports Car Concept that Honda unveiled earlier this year was supposed to be a preview of the next 2008 Acura NSX. The car was set to be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show later this year. But now comes word that Honda may be going back to the drawing board. Apparently the car did not get the reaction that Honda was hoping for.

According to Leftlane News and Winding Road, the car will still keep the major configurations of the concept (V-10 engine and all-wheel-drive). The car is also still set to be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show this fall and begin production early next year.

I agree, the car didn't really do it for me like the original NSX. Glad to hear that other people felt the same way.

WS:

The design is too busy, too many cuts in the metal that add to the visual bulkiness. Acura needs to come back with a simpler design with classic proportions, and cut down on the bulk. How about a V8 that Honda can use elsewhere in their lineup, too? Drop the V-10 please.

dave:

Bring back the HSC concept.
That was truly beatiful and the next evolution of the nsx.
Give it a 400HP v6-500 hp v8-600hp v10 world class rwd handling with awd an option. $75000-$100000-$125000 with very limited production for 7 years. 10000 units first nyear than down a 1000 each year thereafter.

Kenny Lin:

When I first saw the HSC concept that you guys had, I felt in love with it. I thought that is the most beautiful exotic sports car that it was ever made in history. Much better than Diablo. Although Diablo is very nice too. So my comment is if you guys can bring back the HSC back and make it on the production line, this car will sell as a winner. Believe me. I will personally buy one from you.
If you keep the design on the above pictures, I don't think it will sell good at all. It's not a very slick design. Like the other person said, it's just too bulky. It really looks like Batman's car. If you have this one on production, you will loose big time.
Please bring back the HSC. It will win for sure.

I have a NSX 02 silver. Keep it NSX like all great cars Keep it curvey and sleek bigger horses V8 0R V10. Keep it low and fast. No car like it will never sell it

Tony:

A ricer V-10? That's news to me; I always associated the 1.0-2.0 range engines with 6 inch diameter exhausts and body kits - oh, can't forget the superman wing on the back.

2.98 seconds 0-60? that isn't very impressive when you take in the Corvette's 0-60, the new GT-R's time, etc. etc.

Only a true would worry about 0-60 over handling and 1/4 mile ;-)

PS: "Ultimate," not ultamit...

dave:

I personaly like the design but i gotta agree wit u guys on 1 thing . That is bulky i think they should keep the design but slim the width down .It would make it more like compact with real agressive mean look to it.

naim:

That car is so assume.

resul sucu:

i want to know price fot nsx thanks.

jimmy:

This car is beautiful, keep the V-10. It is not bulky at all it makes the car look fast. And andrew learn how to spell if your going to insult someone.
